Cambridge Montessori Headmaster Charged with Child Porn

The Cambridge Chronicle reports that the headmaster of Cambridge Montessori has pleaded not guilty to child pornography charges in North Adams, Mass. and released on bail. David B. Harris, 66, was arraigned Monday in Northern Berkshire District Court in North Adams on child pornography charges, according to the Berkshire District Attorney’s office. Harris was charged with possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography after a two-month investigation that culminated in a search warrant Sunday at his North Adams home.

Reports are that the Intenet browsing history on Harris’ computer contained links to a collection of websites featuring prepubescent boys. Police reportedly recovered the flash drives from the pocket of a robe Harris was wearing when he answered the door on Sunday. He was released on $2,500 bail and a bindover hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 25.

Cambridge Montessori is a private school from preschool to Grade 9. The school sent the Chronicle a statement saying it is “discussing his resignation,” and that they believe additional charges will be brought against him. The school has begun a search for an interim headmaster.
