The Boston Herald reports that a man formerly of Hyde Park who looked at child pornography on a state-monitored computer while out on release for another child pornography-related offense will serve a decade behind bars.
U.S. District Court Chief Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV sentenced David Ladeau, 66, in federal court in Boston to 10 years in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release. He also got two years each for two supervised-release violations, which will run concurrently with the main sentencing.
Ladeau — who is listed as a “level 3,” or high-risk reoffender with the state sex-offender registry — pleaded guilty to access with intent to view child pornography on on Feb. 18. He has previous federal child pornography-related convictions from Massachusetts in 2010 and another from Tennessee in 2015, according to the feds.
It was while out on supervised release in those cases, law enforcement caught him with child pornography on his court monitored-computer, which the feds say he accessed from a thumb drive in January and February 2021. Court documents do not go into any detail of the content of those files, but the plea bargain document shows that the material, which is more than 10 but less than 150 images, “portrays sexual abuse or exploitation of an infant or toddler.”
