The Boston Globe reports that a Boston Uber driver was indicted on charges that he allegedly kidnapped and raped a female passenger in December, according to authorities.
Alejandro Done, 46, is charged with kidnapping, three counts of aggravated rape, and two counts of assault and battery, the office of Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan said. An arraignment date has not yet been set.
Done allegedly found the victim as she was waiting on Tremont Street for a pre-arranged ride-hailing driver on the night of Dec. 6.
Once inside the car, authorities said Done allegedly drove to a location that the victim was unfamiliar with, pulled over in a secluded area, and jumped into the backseat. There, he allegedly locked the car doors, struck and strangled the victim, and began to sexually assault her with his hands covering her mouth to prevent her from screaming.
The victim reported the alleged assault to Cambridge police, who identified Done using Uber company records, Ryan’s office said.
