Foxborough Alcohol License Transferred

Foxborough selectmen agreed to transfer a contentious all-alcohol restaurant license from the former Christina’s Fireside Grille, held by MJ Holding Corp., to landlord and D&N Corp. principal Nicholas Panagopoulos. The 3-1 vote last Tuesday includes conditions that Panagopoulos pay all outstanding bills for police details plus attorneys fees, and honor deposits for functions and events at the Route 1 facility that recently closed.

Boston.com reports that Tuesday’s hearing, which was continued from July 24, addressed the requested transfer of the license in light of more than 10 violations over the past decade in which ownership was transferred without prior town authorization. Subsequently, the popular restaurant and wedding venue was operating without a valid liquor license, officials said. Panagopoulos is remodeling the building and plans to open a steakhouse and function facility.
